Cleveland may not have the numbers of Olympic athletes that Colorado and Southern California have, but the north coast can be proud of the hometown athletes it's sending to Beijing, led by the King himself, LeBron James.
LeBron James
A veteran of the 2004 Bronze Medal team, LeBron is co-captain this time around. The Cleveland Cavaliers star is also a starter for the Beijing Games and has been quoted as saying the USA men's basketball team will be bringing home the Gold this time. Let's hope he's right.
Mark Gangloff
Twenty-six-year-old Olympic veteran, Mark Gangloff is a graduate of Akron's Firestone High School. He finished second in the men's 100m breast stroke event at the US Olympic Trials Swim Meet to earn a trip to the Beijing Games. He'll also be competing in the Men's 4x100m medley relay.
Becky Kim
Kim was born in Euclid, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University. She is part of the US synchorized swimming team and is making her Olympic debut in Beijing.
Raynell Williams
Cleveland's own Raynell Williams is heading for Beijing in boxing. The 19-year-old featherweight is a graduate of Cleveland's C.A.S.T.L.E high school academy. He is also a two-time National Silver Gloves Champion and came in second in the 2007 Golden Gloves Championship and the Olympic Team Trial event.
